It BEGan with a party...
...and we never could have imagined that our first game of D&D would lead us on this incredible journey. Yet here we are. The best part is getting to share and create this experience with you. We've always loved story-telling but Dungeons and Dragons allows us access to stories we've never told before and the freedom to tell them in new and exciting ways. For us, the game table (much like the stage or a rehearsal room) is a safe and sacred space that gives us permission to immerse ourselves in the skin and mind of another being. Through these unique characters, we are able to discover things about ourselves and those around us. To explore not only the worlds they inhabit but the quiet, undiscovered territory inside ourselves. Plus, we get to kick some serious butt and who hasn't fantasized about doing that? For us, the best element of this game/hobby/obsession is its collaborative nature. At its best, the stories we tell in a game of D&D comes to life through our cooperation. We aren't isolated but part of a larger whole - each individual adding their unique perspective to the story. Together we get to create something that never before existed before, will never exist in exactly the same way again and comes solely from our imaginations. It really is one hell of a game! We hope to combine our experience and insight with yours to add something special to this community that means so much to us. We will bring every tool and trick we know to the discussion-- from active listening and being generous, to character/player investment and being open. And we want to hear and learn from you, the world wide D&D community, more about this game and what creates the magic at your table. Our goal is to create a podcast experience that is about us, all of us-- at once creators and community. Together, we can CHANGE THE GAME!
In addition to our regular cast of D&D fanatics, D20 to Curtain will feature guest players made up of some of our favorite people in the local arts and gaming scene. The cast for this campaign includes Timothy Stewart (as Ally), Kara-Lynn Neel (as Nesrin), Jennifer Barton-Stevenson (as Eula), Jared Blount (as Jaide), Jodi Nestander (as Lapis) and Jerome Stevenson (our Dungeon Master).
